Patio Ground Preparation
Ground preparation is the most important part of any paving project. If the installation of the patio or paving is carried out without the ground being prepared properly, there will most certainly be future problems. That's why here at MIM we adhere to the correct procedures laid out by the British Standard Regulations. They are as follow:
- The area is to be excavated to a minimum of 150mm from the finished surface level.
- A geo textile membrane is now installed prior to the hardcore which is to be a minimum of 75mm.
- Any drainage which is required will now be installed.
- The paving can now be installed. Depending on the type of product installed, either a wet lay or a sand bed method can be used although we use a wet lay method 99% of the time unless asked otherwise.
- The paving is now fully pointed with mortar or a resin based product (weatherpoint 365) which can be installed in the wet.
